Excited with the Office

[Saturday, 4 December, 2010]

I had supper, or rather, dinner with my family at the MacDonald’s. After reaching home, my elder brother, my mum and I brought Lucky down for a walk.

My excitement for the upcoming office space was never shown, not even during the shopping trip earlier with Mike since I was too tired. Nevertheless, I started researching about office designs online. I realised all the colour for office walls I saw was light and plain. What made the office stand out was the furniture. Due to budget restriction, Mike could never waste too much money to make our office look fantastic. I was quite embarrassed that he had to buy two sets of furniture because of me as I would be the freeloader.

I slept at 9pm after doing my work and I woke up at 4pm to continue with my tuition agency website.

Last Day of Renovation for my Flat

[Tuesday, 26 October, 2010]

I began my day continuing to work with Tze Khit at the gym for his banner. I was glad that everything was completed soon we left after I transferred the files into his thumbdrive.

Back at home, I tried Bobby’s photo CDs but they were old and thus quite problematic. Two CDs failed and the final set of three discs for the software required me to insert specific CD in order to retrieve some of the photo galleries. Anyway, the photos were quite small and thus they could not solve all my problems.

I finally got to shower at my house’s bathroom. Since the workers were too slow, they delayed some of the touch-up work, such as installing the heater back. They were too lazy to clear up the mess as they did not want to do double job on the second last day of renovation work. After taking the cold bathe, I continued working on my website and slept after 7am.

I woke up at around noon. The Starhub team from the CRM department rang me up. The lady knew about the conversation I had with her colleague the day before and she insisted that they could only offer me a hundred dollar renewal voucher for my mobile phone line. I was quite pissed off for my entire family were using Starhub line and we were also their hub club member who used their SCV and Maxonline services.

My elder brother went downstairs to get medicine and thus I had to entertain Lucky who kept disturbing me from my sleep. In the last afternoon, he went down for his leg treatment.

Soon, the renovation ended and I started cleaning and packing up my house together with my mum. I washed the toilet and bathroom’s wall thoroughly and was disappointed that the workers left tiny paint stains around. So much for the cheap bill under the HDB upgrade programme, we accepted the condition since we knew the foreign talents were lowly paid as well and it would only boil up their blood to create extra problems for us.

My younger brother joined us after he got home while my elder brother fixed up the new bathroom corner rack form IKEA. We were very impressed with our new furniture, including the mirror. My dinner was packet vegetarian mee hoon and it lessened the pressure on my weak stomach after the days of torment.

The endless work after my dinner was the cleaning up of the kitchen’s windows. The frames remained dusty no matter how many times I wiped them.

At around 11pm, I eased my cleaning work and went on to my website while catching the Taiwanese show on channel 8.

Meeting Off, Stuck at the Gym for Work

[Monday, 25 October, 2010]

As usual, I spent the morning working on my tuition website and then blogging. I went to sleep after 7am.

Lucky woke me up in the afternoon. My elder brother went down for his leg treatment again and thus I had to take care of Lucky by myself for an hour.

A guy from Starhub, Ari, called me regarding the request for voucher for my renewal of mobile phone plan. He insisted that Starhub could only give me at most a hundred dollar voucher and I was quite pissed off. I got him to call me back the next day so that I could discuss with my younger brother as we had intention to switch over to Singtel for Starhub’s reception was ridiculous.

I wanted to go down to the gym earlier but I had some stuffs to sort out with my younger brother regarding the tuition agency. Since he was coming home, I waited for him.

I left home at around 7.30pm, so that I would be early for the meeting with Andrew and Letian. I was quite shocked that none of them was around there since I thought they would be there for training before the meeting. I waited until it passed 8pm, I SMSed Letian who did not reply me. Later on, I tried contacting Andrew and he told me the meeting was cancelled for Letian was sick. I was at a lost suddenly for waiting down there over nothing.

Tze Khit stopped me from leaving since he had a poster for me to edit. He accompanied me to Burger King where I grabbed my dinner and helped Wilson to get a meal too. Tze Khit insisted to treat me for the dinner but I used his fifty dollars note to foot the bill before taking out my money from my wallet to return to him together with the change. He was too generous to check the sum.

We went back to the gym soon and I started having my dinner. The new mushroom chicken tasted quite nice at the first bite but I craved for the normal chicken burger instead.

I started working with Tze Khit and Bobby. They wanted to make changes to my previous design with all the updated stuffs. It was an extremely tough night for me as they were trying hard to fight against time and poured me with multiple instructions at one time before I could finish even a step. There were numerous trial and errors to exhaust my brain and fingers, especially when I was using the laptop’s mouse pad.

Right before midnight, when it was almost done, while waiting for them to surf the net for photos, I rushed to the toilet as I had diarrhoea. The rest of them left the gym soon.

Mum Woke Me Up

[Monday, 4 October, 2010]

I was working on the website and eventually went to bed at 5am with Lucky. My mum woke up me at 9am when she tried hard to get Lucky to go to pee on the newspaper in case he created a mess later. I was deeply annoyed for most of the time, it was due to her that I was being disrupted from my sleep.

I woke up at 2pm. I spent some time planning for the gym’s notification for the expansion. I was not sure what poster size did Bobby want but I realise doing it on PowerPoint was an easy design job.

I continued working on my website for the day until my brothers and I brought Lucky down for a walk earlier than usual.

Sad that I was Right

"The overall speed of responses signifies the value of you in a person's heart. Know where you stand and learn to let go; quit being a clown." – I was right all along.

This morning, some truths finally came into light. Sometimes I got so disheartened by my sharpness for I could see the appreciation from friends easily. There were always reasons why some things had happened and why some people would neglect you.

I did my usual blogging and eventually I dug up some songs that went missing somehow. Before I went to bed at around 5am, I began a bit on a new page for SmokeForWhat.

I began with work soon after waking up at around 2pm. I almost forgot it was a Saturday.

In the evening, I dropped Bianhong a message to check if he had seen my email to him days ago that I had attached the amended design for him. He finally called me back to confirm that he was satisfied with it and he wanted to send to the shop in a couple hours of time before it closed. I was wondering why he was not anxious about it days ago but I guessed he did not want to hurry me. It took me some brain cells to try to convince him that the draft copy that I had sent him was less than one-third the quality of the original version. In the end, I made assurance that he would be mocked by the printing company for the poor quality, and that he had to trust me, having to wait on.

I saved the finally version in the original 300 dpi quality and it took quite some time for the A2 size design to appear in JPG in the highest quality. After uploading it to MediaFire, the free file hosting site failed me yet again when the entire file went missing. I had to re-upload it but I pinned my hope on YouSendIt instead, which worked.

Finished Off Another Free Freelance Hopefully

[Saturday, 21 August, 2010]

As I took my lunch and dinner together in the late afternoon, I started starving soon. I went to the prata shop with my mum and elder brother for supper. After that, I continued to work on Bianhong’s photo for printing a puzzle for his girlfriend’s birthday present with distraction from the internet. I went to sleep after 7am.

I woke up at around 2pm. the nasi lemak my mum bought was cold. She added extra ingredients to my packet as she probably could not finish hers. The chicken wings were awful as the meat was difficult to chew on.

The backache I had since days ago was bothering me a lot. I did not have the mood to work but still, I managed to complete Bianhong’s picture and pending his acknowledgement. Since his girlfriend was besides him, he could not give me a reply to see if any amendment was needed.

Since Tengy finally replied me after she filtered my message in MSN the day before, and she was easily agreeable to let me use her photo for my new Facebook group, I went ahead to work on it. I also peeked into the latest article I wrote for SmokeForWhat, but my brain was not working well enough for a conclusion yet.

In the late evening, I was totally out of mood to do anything. I spent the time lying on the bed and playing Condition Zero. It was a noisy night for my family started cooking prawns and had beer. Then, they decided to go to the beach the next day.

Weird Day, Weird Friend

[Friday, 20 August, 2010]

Jade messaged me in MSN and I reminded her to remind me to sleep early, and thus I went to sleep after 3am right after she went offline.

I woke up before 9am and continued to lie around the bed. My mum made half boiled eggs, bread and milo for my breakfast. I went to the gym at 11am and that was one of the earliest times I went. I felt bad for not going down for the past four days when I was too engrossed with my work even though I did not make much progress. I was completely ruled by my sleepiness and almost blackout in the gym. After the workout I struggled on the chin-up bar for twenty pulls.

The bank salesman came over to settle Tze Khit’s credit card transaction. After that, we left the gym together with his friend. It was drizzling and thus he decided to dine at the new Japanese restaurant along the way, which was just a few metres away. They dragged me in but I did not take anything since I might be meeting Regina with her friend soon. When Regina finally replied me after 1am, I asked her what time she could make it to Vivocity and she replied a single word “soon”. I quickly rushed home and washed up.

I reached the destination at around 2pm and started walking around Daiso. I paid a visit to the pet shop and finally the arcade before I went to the concert area to boot up my laptop where the internet connection was slow. Nothing much could be done.

After 3pm, Regina finally SMSed me that she had reached but her replies were far too weird. I went down to find her at Toastbox and she treated me transparently. Together with her friend, we went to the Burger King in the most awkward atmosphere I had ever encountered, just like best friends turning into strangers out of a sudden. I knew it was a wrong choice to go out but I never knew what was going on.

We found a table at the Burger King immediately. She dragged her friend along to get food without saying anything to me. I lost my appetite. When they returned, she finally spoke up and asked me why I did not go and get my food but I merely shook my head. Her friend began to astonish me with his outspoken character, being creative and blunt, he had endless examples to compare things, and sometimes quite offensive. I was quite amazed with some of his jokes in my lostness and sleepiness. Sitting right opposite them, I felt awkward when Regina was far too quiet and thus I kept my eyes at the next table at the kids.

After eating, Regina started taking her work out. I thought she was going to start doing her revision the entire day there until her friend discouraged her. When he started asking her to choose over going to his or her house, I was quite stunned until he told me they were friends since primary six. His suggestion to catch a movie stunned me once again for I thought he was going to revise with her together after our lunch or meet-up. I finally got a chance to ask him what was wrong with Regina when we were at the toilet, and he assured me that she was quiet for she did not want him to bully her more. So much for his crappy jokes, I thought it was true, but still, she behaved far too weird.

As we walked around the shopping mall, her friend pulled her hair and held them in the most annoying way often. Whenever he put his hand over her shoulder, she snapped the fingers away immediately but she did not look angry at all. I was amazed over her tolerance and their closeness. When he mentioned about how lousy her boyfriend was, I was totally lost for I thought she was just having a weird hard crush on a wrong person but was still in the safe zone. I did not try to correct him since he definitely knew more than me and it seemed that I did not have any reason to talk.

They planned to go to Sengkang and I had no idea what they had in mind but I remembered her crush was staying there. It was totally not a good idea to join them since things were going too weird for me and that I had many work on hand, moreover, I was going to view dog with my younger brother in the evening.

We stopped by the Candy Empire where she hesitated over getting some candies. I had a hard time resisting myself to tell her to grab them all. Her friend solved her problem by asking her to look at her wallet to see what she could afford. The shop was a good babe attraction.

When they were entering the train’s entrance, I bid them goodbye. As they were going down the escalator, he was still pulling her hair and I saluted to her tolerance once again.

After reaching home at around 5pm, my mum packeted dinner for me and I dozed off while waiting for my younger brother to return. He got home around two hours later to tell me and we waited for a while for the seller to send the dogs’ pictures over. As the seller was too demanding over the ugly dogs, we decided not to give up the viewing with our budget.

I started working on Bianhong’s photos. Though my mind was still filled with blankness from the day’s weird encounter, I was able to make good progress with the design work.

My Latest Free Freelance Work

[Monday, 16 August, 2010]

It took me long time to finish up a blog entry and I went to sleep eventually at 5am. I woke up at around noon and the entire afternoon was kind of being wasted for I was too sleepy to do anything. I was supposed to meet up with Liyi but she was missing for the past few days and I supposed she was too busy for our date.

Bianhong called me a few times to interrupt my rest and eventually I met up with him after 6pm near NTUC. I could feel the stress for his purpose for dropping by was to pass me photos so that I could help him to piece and design them into a picture. He would then go to the printing shop to make a puzzle for his girlfriend’s birthday. He had actually tried to send me twice using his company’s email account and I supposed companies would restrict the file attachment sizes of all outgoing emails.

I accompanied him to eat at the market before he followed me home. I was very embarrassed for my house looked like a war zone, worse than before, since it was not packed after the shifting of the bedrooms. In fact, I did not even expect him to go up. He passed me the photos and roughly gave me some instructions. I had problems explaining things to him. Since he had to wait for his girlfriend to go to his place, he was bored and did not seem to be in the hurry to go off. I never knew how to tell him it was not a good time to chitchat or watch television together. I became more stressed for there were many works pending my actions. When my entire family was beginning to have their dinner, he decided to make his move since the living room was very packed. I walked him to the MRT station and by the time I reached home, it was 9pm when I started having my dinner.

I was quite depressed for the day as I thought of the number of tasks I wanted to accomplish being overruled by friends’ requests for help. I could never have the mood to start finding a job. Nobody could understand me no matter how I explained. It had always been like this since I was young that I did not know how to reject, and it had put stress into me and my life had never gotten any better.

Most Romantic Night Ever

[Saturday, 14 August, 2010]

My brothers and I had a game of Command and Conquer before my younger brother went to bed. We planned to go swimming in the morning and thus I wanted to try dozing off earlier. However, Eileen messaged me and told me of her failed application to SIM and we started talking on phone later. Her incredible cute stories of her past entertained me till after 6am.

I woke up at around 12pm, feeling surprise that my younger brother did not wake me up for the swim. However, I could see that the sky was not in good mood. Five of us had lunch at the market and the owner selling duck rice turned me off the second time with his sales. My younger brother wanted to add an additional egg and he muttered and then pointed at the picture of a set meal for me, which included beancurd and egg, and thus I said okay to him. In the end, he did not serve us with egg and he told me that he had earlier mentioned that the egg was sold out. It was sort of ridiculous. The worst thing was that his duck meat was over salty.

Not long after reaching home, Huiting messaged me and told me to help her with a banner design for a blog, which she needed it by the same day. I spent the next few hours doing up the banner. Towards late afternoon, Regina told me she did not want to attend her church but she refused to meet me earlier.

I set off after 7pm and took bus 167 at Cantonment Link. When I was near Bukit Merah, I saw a bus number 5 in front and I had a strong intuition that Regina inside and true enough that she SMSed me that she was reaching. We went shopping for food together. I was quite disappointed that I could not find sushi at the NTUC. The MacDonald’s was closed as well. We went to the KFC and that was when I realised that upsizing everything in a Zinger meal could cost a big bomb.

We went back to the interchange and took bus 131. When it started turning into Bukit Purmei, I was quite turned off since Henderson Waves was actually just a few bus-stops in the straight Henderson Road away from the interchange. After making a big round, we finally reached our destination and climbed up the stairs to the beautiful Henderson Waves. I was glad that Regina was amazed with the beautiful scenery as well. It was a cool night and I had never thought of being with a female friend hanging around there at night, especially when I did not own a car.

We walked to the far side of the bridge and found a space to sit down. We took our dinner while playing around with the cameras. Next, we walked towards the Terrace Garden and we stopped by the fitness corner to take photos together. It was the moment I had waited for years as she trimmed her hair super short the previous time I managed to take a picture with her.

As we were entering Terrace Garden, I saw three Bangala walking behind us and I supposed that was the problem with going out with a girl at night that I had to tighten up my muscle and get ready for any unforeseeable event. Regina was acting like a reporter with my Sony camera but the battery was drained up soon. It was to my horror that my younger brother did not charge the spare battery and we had to give up the fun.

We reached the top of Terrace Garden to join other people to glance at the fireworks of the Youth Olympics Games starting ceremony from far, but it did not last for long and I could hardly catch any. Regina was waiting for more fireworks with my Olympus camera but it was a useless wait. I was glad that she was ready to take more photos with me ever since her crush joked with her that she was ugly. She did not see the remote control I held in my hand until I decided it was not fun to keep the secret anymore.

She was on the phone for quite long before I led her down to Forest Walk. The place was beautiful, though it more remote than any other places and I was shocked that she chose to complete the journey with me instead of turning back. It was the first time I went there at night, and instead of being with a group of guy friends, I was in fact with a cute girl. I felt lucky being trusted. We reached the Alexandra Arch after the long walk and finally Hort Park. After using the toilet, we went down to the hall area and Regina took pictures with the SYOG Mascot. We went to the swinging seat near the entrance and finally started heading off.

I checked my phone and was amazed that it was already 11.30pm. Regina was worried about getting home since she stayed far in the east and I was a little disappointed for she should not worry with me around. We crossed over the road and took bus 166 to Outram Park and waited for the last bus number 2. On the way, I dropped Hirman a SMS and he told me I could look for him afterwards.

It was one of the greatest nights I had ever been through.

Gym and Poster Submission

[Tuesday, 22 June, 2010]

I caught the World Cup match of Spain against Honduras together with my elder brother. Other than the Brazilians, the Spanish players did well enough to impress me with their skill and teamwork.

I went to the gym in the afternoon and did my workout as to not waste Tze Khit’s effort. I knew he meant well for me to build up myself and also to strength my muscle against my injuries. I knew I would not keep up with it. Ah Hui did well to entertain me with his craps during the gym session.

Nevertheless, the main motive of going down was to show Tze Khit the poster I had done. Therefore, after the workout, I continued with a little amendment before reloading all the files into his laptop so that Bobby could get to see it as well.

After reaching home, I continued to help him to update his websites with his latest photos.

Gym Advertising Poster

[Monday, 21 June, 2010]

I caught the World Cup match of Brazil against Ivory Coast and I was very impressed by the individual technique of all the Brazilians.

It was a boring day for me because I spent most of my time on the gym advertising poster for Tze Khit. The size was big and therefore it was not easy to work with. Moreover, the given images were not big enough and thus there were restrictions.

I made good progress.

Out with Tze Khit and Bobby

[Wednesday, 19 May, 2010]

I lost to the sleep disease again. Even though I dozed off near daylight, I tried to set my alarm clock to wake me up early so that I could make myself more tired. In the end, I failed before I went back to sleep again.

At around 11am, my mum, however, woke me up for the air-conditioner servicemen were coming over soon. They were a father and son team and they worked quite professionally. They charged us $50 for diagnosing the problem of the system and also did a simple clean-up. Even though it was the first day of my brother’s work, he promised my mum to fork out the money first and he would return the sum to her later.

My brunch was chicken rice, which my mum bought from the stall that Bianhong’s mum worked at. It was much overpriced with the few pieces of bones.

I met up with Tze Khit and his partner, Bobby at the carpark and Tze Khit took us a ride to Sim Lim Tower. His driving was quite reckless but confident. After getting some fuses, we went to a foodcourt nearby where they had their lunch before we went to Sim Lim Square. Bobby was amazing with his knowledge even though he cracked too many jokes that I could not make up which were facts. Tze Khit got himself a thumbdrive, it seemed like Bobby was shopping while Tze Khit was merely footing the bill.

We went to Bras Basah Complex to print banners and the lady amazed me with her keyboard shortcuts with Illustrator. I knew I was not even fifty percent to a master of designer yet. I was not lucky for the lady whom they wanted me to look at was on leave. We moved on to shop around at the nearby A1 printing shop to look at brochure holder before we moved to the Popular Bookstore to compare prices. They bought a paper slicer and some stationery. I was tempted to the computer writing pad and sound speaker.

While going down the escalator, we saw a babe at the opposite direction and it was the luckiest moment of the day. We went to the A1 printing shop to purchase the holder while I was engrossed with all the interesting office equipments, especially a nicely designed signboard with calligraphy writing.

After getting all the items, we returned to Tanjong Pagar and had our dinner at the Burger King. Their $4.95 promotional set with the extra two chicken drumlets were a great pulling factor. Bobby was a very good father for he was troubled over his daughter’s little things. After the dinner, we went to back to the Gold’s Gym. Tze Khit had a client and I waited for his personal training session to end to set off together. We bid each other goodbye at the carpark.

Third Implementation Task

Two Fridays ago, I was stuck with my assignment as usual. It was the third implementation task and I did not seem to be ready for the entire module yet.

The sudden change of the poster design was a surprise to me for I thought everything was almost completed. Luckily, I was quick enough to amend it to sum up the more than twenty emails exchanged.

I stayed inside the office until after five and went to school directly to continue with my work but to realise there was nothing much I could do. I submitted only one mark out of the two and half marks question. The frustration could never be described.

Later, I realised the last question required installation of a sample database in order to do. Even though it was already copied into a CD given by the lecturer long time ago, it was not mentioned in the task’s instructions, which was ridiculous.

It was not the end of the terror.

Work Dwelled on Me

I was trying to sleep early the day before but while I was setting my alarm clock on the phone, I saw “inactive SIM”. I knew Starhub had cancelled my line when they were supposed to call and inform me first. I quickly got up of my bed and started sending emails to my friends to inform them of the changes. I also mass messaged everyone in my MSN. In the end, I got to sleep at very late hour.

Lacking of sleep caused emotional problems. My brain was still suffocating from the previous day of stress and bloating, and the day simply started off very badly.

Upon reaching the office, I was received by Alex and Mr Baey who told me the urgency of the smoking poster. Alex showed me an email sent over by the top sending his regards for the smoking cases. I felt being arrowed so badly. I did not have a chance to breathe since two week ago and I did not even have the chance to tell them I needed to go to the toilet.

The worst thing was that I was only given a warning letter to get the contents from, and that ideas from both sides were different. Changes made on the contents drove me insane. I was not merely designing a poster but an editor of the contents as well. Luckily, we had some time to get together to discuss finally and confirmed everything.

Even though I was not very fantastic with my output of work, at least I made effort to do my best each time, unless time constraint, I would still produce something more valuable. This time round, I simply put texts and available images on the PowerPoint slide and submitted, which I felt so silly and insincere, though I was plainly following instructions.

I started with marking of test papers finally, which was one of the prime causes of my stress. I took the work into the lab and stayed at the back to focus on them. Instead of going home before my night class started, I stayed behind to continue with the work in my sleepy mood, and I shut down in the air countless time to wake up a second later.

All the workloads reminded me of my previous attempts to leave. I hated it when my studies were affected by my work when I was actually planning to leave so long ago in order not to waste my money away.

The canteen closed early and since I was cooping myself inside the office to do my work, I did not have dinner. I closed my eyes to rest inside the office for fifteen minutes before taking off. I was quite lucky to meet Hasnah at the lobby when she was sending George and Mdm Seet to the MRT, and she gave me a lift as well, such that I could have additional options of taking bus 154 and 184 instead of mainly waiting for the tortoise-like bus 52.

The packed traffic destroyed my plan of grabbing a burger to eat before the lesson. I was in fact early for lesson but decided to stay inside to have a little rest. However, the lecture started with injections of sleeping pills into my body and I could not stay focus even for a little.

During the break, I grabbed myself a “poh pian” to struggle through the night. Surprisingly, I managed to stay awake during the second half of the lecture. The journey home was quite boring even though I did see a few babes at the bus-stop, inclusive of a stylish girl who was unfortunately too over skinny.

Irwin was finally back in Singapore and I made an appointment to catch Red Cliff 2 with him on Saturday evening.

The Work Stress and Gone Case Lecture

The day started miserably for I was doing poster design instead of going to sleep early. There were stress placed by colleagues even though I could push the load away since I had already told them I was extremely busy with other stuffs and my studies.

I went to sleep after three AM to wake up after eight and quickly washed up for work. I met my problem child female on train and had a nice teasing of her before we boarded bus for two pathetic stops.

The day was quite special since O level results were going to be released at two PM and my posters were going to be distributed. Lessons and duties were affected and I had to cover up duties for Alvin in the afternoon. Before lunch, I saw Aaron talking to Jonathan, he seemed to be doing his usual pinpointing on the poster, and I was stressed up even more for I knew well I had not done my best but that was a last minute work.

I was already stressed up enough for all the design works and my studies but the afternoon drove me to a more desperate end. The sudden bomb set me up with giddiness and brain block.

I set off to school earlier than ever at around five thirty PM but bus 52 kept me waiting while most of the other bus numbers had arrived twice. I met Pui Kuan before the bus arrived. I first approached #2-22 to collect my student pass and they did not have my record even though my pass was already done and thus I stayed quite some time over there.

After calling Venus to check her results and that she finally picked up her phone, I went to the canteen alone for dinner. I had a plate of fish and chips and the hot serving torched my tongue. The fish was crispy outside, which I was neutral about it, but the fresh was soft and quite well done. $3.50 was dirt cheap compared to outside.

I entered the lecture theatre earlier than usual and sat there to rest but it was too short to doze off. The lecturer came in to start speaking without microphone. It was difficult for me to catch his accent and I went blank at some of his words. The lecture was too lengthy at first and I started to wander off soon even though my eyes were fighting hard to look at the slides.

I felt terrible for not understanding the lecture at all and I knew the worst cause of the night was due to the stress earlier on during working hours with all the rush work and last minute disorganisation.

I managed to catch bus 75 after pacing with my shoelace dropping off, in exchange of girls-watching at the bus-stop where many babes were around. Even though I got to catch more than fifteen minutes of the Yi Zhi Mei show, it was not as enjoyable as usual with the mild headache.

Never a Lone Ranger at SIM Lecture Anymore

New design work arrived and I was not sure if bosses knew about it; I was not sure if I should notify them about it so that others would add in more workload for me when I was already at my throat. It was poster for anti-smoking campaign and thus I was interested in contributing my part but time was pushing me hard.

Canteen was as crowded as the day before. Weitat, Jingkun and I dined out at Clementi at the newly renovated coffee shop at Teck Heng. A lousy plate of nasi lemak without cucumber was very expensive at $2.50, which I could get better quality and quantity at the hawker centre instead. Anyway, the uncle at the Malay stall took my order or nasi patanya and made me wait for nothing as he told me the chicken was not ready yet.

The afternoon was a struggle of battle against time. Designing small icons spilled my brain juice. I decided to go for the splash page first for George but it was difficult to get three logos of different tones to be integrated nicely into a splash page, which was not supposed to be very big sized.

I got some buns and mai gai at the drinks stall at $2.20. Alex suddenly mentioned about introducing girls to me, which was so random. I was glad though, since it was a good progress of friendship since the first few weeks he arrived and sometimes turned a blind eyes to me even when I smiled at him; of course, it was better than Veron’s case and she was actually very friendly ever since we started playing badminton together.

I felt very glad when Jingkun and Weitat told me they wanted to have a bite at Bukit Timah and Jingkun would be sending me over to SIM. The main road was super congressed and Jingkun took a big round by travelling in the opposite direction towards Bukit Batok. I was guessing he could have stick to the same road since the distance was much shorter. Anyway, it was good that I could close and rest my eyes inside his car. Their consideration was very touching.

It was my first visit to the canteen at SIM. It looked unique somehow except that my shirt stunk soon. I went up to level six to get my letter of confirmation as SIM student to submit for deferment of NS from Sara.

I knew exactly well I would be earlier than Professor Willy since I saw him dining at the canteen just before I bid my gang goodbye. I took the second row seat this time and I was a lone ranger like usual. I had a hard time staying attentive. During the break, I stared at the person who looked like Yuan Le and I was glad when he called out my name. Edgar finally replied my SMS and it was too late.

Since Yuan Le had changed his number, he did not reply my SMS in the morning. However, he still held my existing number. I was wondering how many more numbers in my list were ownerless already.

We were dismissed early again. I waited quite long for bus 75 together with many students at the bus stop who were waiting for their buses as well. I took an empty seat behind a trendy girl who was probably from junior college judging from her t-shirt. It was such a pity that she moved nearer to the windows soon that I could only glance at her back. Nevertheless, I had my MP3 to entertain me on the way. She alighted at Great World City and the remaining short journey was more boring than ever.

I managed to catch more than fifteen minutes of Yi Zhi Mei on channel U again. Poor Yuan Le was staying at Bedok and I felt quite fortunate somehow, even though I was wishing so much that I was staying at Clementi.
