Firman’s Convocation and Wanling Met Lucky

[Wednesday, 6 October, 2010]

I spent some time after midnight asking Kachua and Joceyln to test my website. I went to bed at 5am eventually. Lucky refused to sleep and it was difficult to doze off as my mum would start screaming whenever he went near her.

I woke up before 7am and waited nearly half an hour for bus 75. It was ridiculous for the bus to take so long to arrive where the bus-stop was crowded with irritated faces. I regretted not leaving my house earlier or to take the train instead. It started pouring on the way to slow me down. Firman was worried throughout but I was very certain that everything was going to be fine since I had experienced convocation at SIM campus before.

I was right that I was still early even though the stated time was up. I took my time to go to the toilet to release myself but regretted not going in earlier since I could have taken a seat nearer to the stage for better shooting of pictures when Firman went up. Anyway, being at convocation ceremony was one of the things I hated most for the long speeches.

After it ended, we went down for phototaking. I was expecting more friends of him to be there but his classmates were not very “happening” and some had left early for group photos. I followed him around and missed taking food from the tables. I got hungry and had a little gastric pain. In the end, I took bus with him and his parents to Dover where we transited to train.

I went to Bianhong’s mum working place at the coffee shop. She was too busy to entertain the customer at the counter to see me. After standing there for very long, I left for home. Since I had asked Wanling to have lunch with me as I thought she would be coming down soon, I took only a small slice of mooncake.

It was almost 3pm when I went down to find Bianhong’s mum again. After passing her the thumbdrive to return to Bianhong, she treated me two packets of chicken rice. I went down to the MRT station to meet Wanling and we had our chicken rice at the hawker centre, followed by a bowl of ice-kachang.

Since Wanling could not find her kite, we called off the plan to go to the Marina Barrage and instead, we went straight to my house to play with Lucky. Lucky hit off well with her soon and he even scratched her as he got hyperactive. Together with my younger brother, we played for quite long and I got so tired since I had slept for less than three hours, and eventually dozed off inside the bedroom.

My mum, Wanling and I had dinner together after my brothers had their. My mum was asking questions and then she caused some embarrassment when she asked why we were together only now after knowing for so many years. It was a different case for my younger brother for my mum would never mistake his female friends as his girlfriend. Anyway, we quickly clarified with her.

After the dinner, we went down to get batteries before joining my brothers at the second storey for a while as they were playing with Lucky. I sent Wanling home soon. I tried contacting Gilbert since he was staying nearby and he thought we were together as well. We had good chats along the way and it was peaceful after alighting from the MRT station, walking towards her house. We stopped by the 7-11 store and grabbed two bottles of milk tea.

When I was crossing over to my house, someone called me and I was surprised that it was Tommy whom I met at MediaCorp years ago. I could not believe it that he could still remember me. I walked him to the MRT station as we chatted. I loved talking to him even though we did not chat often online.

Visiting ITE and Collecting my Degree Certificate

[Thursday, 6 May, 2010]

I tried my best to sleep early at 2am since I wanted to get up early to get my certification at SIM in the early morning before going back to ITE for visiting. As usual, it took me quite some time to doze off. My brother and his girlfriend left for Thailand in the midst of my sleep.

Having a second thought I decided to go to ITE first since I wanted to get my ex-colleagues the famous muffin from the shop downstairs my place and it would be too heavy to carry all the way to SIM. I got twenty-four pieces of them to make the journey was tougher with the loads. My mum had also surprised me with breakfast.

I went to find Mr Peh but he was not around. I met Diana just when I got up to the third level to brighten up my day. Then, I went into the almost empty staff room. I had a chat with Joy and Hirman came back after some time. I was commented as weird since I had not gotten myself a job and yet I spent money to buy muffins for them – I somehow had the same question in my mind. After passing the muffins to them, I quickly went down to meet up with Evangeline but she had already finished her lunch. I got her to return my grass jelly drinks and I was so proud and showed it off to all the passers-by. It was not about it being free. I rejected Joy, Weitat and Afni’s lunch invitation while Hirman was already at the “duck place” waiting for us.

After Evangeline and all her classmates went for class, I went to the lab with Jonathan for a while before we went to the staff room. After some chitchatting around, I went to Hirman’s desk to get Iylia’s photos so that I could pass to Lijun. Then, I took quite very long to burn the old photos for Hirman while chatting with Diana. In the end, somehow the disc was spoiled.

I borrowed Joei’s external harddisk and transferred the photos into it. I went to the administration office with Joy to settle her student’s bursary stuff and before going to find Weitat. Then, I returned Joei the money for Magdalene’s birthday before joining Hirman at the iDelite Mastery room.

I was totally impressed with Hirman for he did recording impressively for his lessons for the next week as he was going for reservist. He was the most inspiring lecturer I had ever met and the greatest gain of my stay in ITE was to get to know him. If only I had gotten into close contact with him two years ago, I could have changed more students’ mindsets to inspire them more. Now that I would only hope that I could be inspired by his drive more with all interaction whenever available in all the meet-up.

He was almost ruined after preparing a few lessons and we knocked off. I took all the stuffs to his car as he went up to return the keys. Later, Grace, Cynthia and Joei came down together with Hirman and he sent them to the carpark near MRT station before going to SIM to collect my certificate.

Instead of making a U-turn, we took Bukit Timah Road and it was a regret for we made a wrong turn near Steven Road later to go to Orchard Road and passed by two ERPs in the jam. It was a good chance to chat with him and the companion was the main thing, not the convenience. He dropped me opposite Raffles City. Instead of taking bus 167 at the bus-stop nearby or train at Cityhall MRT, I walked over to take bus 145.

FYP Presentation was over

It was my last struggle on Saturday morning to finish up all the work, including updating the site and flash video. I was nodding so badly since I had already exhausted myself the night before; and yet, I went off to bed after 3am again.

As expected, I could not wake up a couple of hours later. I was late but the waiting for bus 75 delayed my trip furthermore, such that I was late for more than twenty minutes. I went straight to the student lounge and waited there. While I was trying to setup my laptop to look at the PowerPoint slides, I realized I did not bring my adapter along and my laptop was the only one with PHP installed, which was required for presenting the website. Thus, I sat there without setting up my system, and did my best to recall the contents.

It was near nine AM when I started to message them. Soon Siong called and told me they were already at the third level. The setting up of the game using Ad-hoc network was problematic somehow even though we managed to do it easily at Starbucks a couple of times. The latency was bad. I tried to install PHP into Andy’s system but his MySQL did not seem to be working. We gave up on showing the site as my laptop failed to stay as the server to demonstrate the game, which was the most crucial part.

The assessors were not very interested in all the PowerPoint slides, which disappointed me since lots of efficient was spent. I did not want to skip the parts immediately since Mr Prem did mention a lot during the previous lecture and I thought I need to show him we had made drastic improvements; moreover, I was afraid that the entire presentation would end too early.

The setting up of the game was disastrous. The projector’s screen size turned the interface haywire. Somehow, the connection socket was not working well. Things were not within my anticipation. We wasted a lot of time on the preparation, but luckily, the assessors were not annoyed over it, or at least, they did not appear to. Mr Prem sounded more like trying to help us than to pinpoint us, but, his words had destroyed my hopes of getting a better grade completely.

We were deciding to go for lunch together but Andy dropped out since he had to go to find his girlfriend. Stephen suddenly decided to go off as well. Soon Siong and I ended up going to Clementi hawker to eat instead. I recommended him the famous chicken cutlet. After that, we took the train home. The lack of rest had provoked my backaches.

I tried to clear my emails at home before playing game, but I was too tired to stay conscious for long. In the evening, I went for a jog towards the Marina Barrage again using the Polar system. The strap attached with the device to measure my heartbeat went loose after a while and it made me very uncomfortable. Somehow, it caused problems to my constant pace for I tried to inhale more each time to stop the strap from slipping down. It somehow made my heart work harder to weaken it, and I felt discomfort on my chest to pace my way. After passing by the bus-stop nearest to Marina Bay MRT station, the strap slipped down. It was disastrous. I had to slowly adjust it when there were fewer people around.

Marina Barrage was as crowded as usual with couples, families and groups of friends; inclusive of babes. The strong wind dried me up soon but it did take a break for a short period of time. I sat there alone to watch all the happy faces till the darkness almost overwhelmed the entire sky. My mum gave me a call to tell me that she wanted to dine outside and thus I made my way back. This time, I fastened the Polar strap more. I was hot on my pace but somehow it was not as fast as what I had thought. When I was near the carpark near my place, I saw a babe from the manicure shop.

My mum and younger brother wanted to go to Bugis but we decided to stop at The Central where I met Christine. Then, we went to Billy Bombers after buying my mum Christmas present. We had some advantages since it was my younger brother’s birthday the day before and they had some promotions. The fish was less than what my younger brother had described but the strawberry milkshake was nice.

Final FYP Meeting

I had my final FYP meeting on Friday, the last day before the actual presentation.

I chose to go back to SIM since the lighting was better than Starbucks’ romantic ones, the seats are better for working and that nobody would chase us out. Lunch was at the canteen where I got to chat with the western food auntie again.

Soon Siong and Stephen took leave as well to meet up to complete the rest of the work together. We met another team and one of them told us of the deliveries to submit to shock us out of our lives. Our plan to finish everything by the evening was destroyed.

All the rushing almost wrecked my brain. We decided to stop the improvement of the main documents and quickly went down to the library to start printing, however, the printer played trick on us. I paid with my ez-link card and the machine was unable to refund. The photocopying shop was closed and we had to give up.

The canteen was closed and I had to cook my own noodle after reaching home.

FYP Second Lecture

Saturday was finally over. It was days of torment before that, trying to design and do content population for a new site for FYP. I could not take the stress that many works were pending; but luckily, boss gave me a green light to focus on my studies first.

I quite liked my own design of the topmask, but due to the lack of time, my anxious mind could not come to a term with me.

Listening to Mr Prem was a hundred times more useful for the project. His mind was clear and he knew well what were required.

Reaching SIM at 9am, I only got to go home after 4pm. However, I got to see quite a number of babes around as usual, which was enjoyable.

Last Lesson

Finally, 311 is over.

There were pushing of responsibility, late deliveries, forging of ignorance, grumbling, but of course, some self-sacrificing.

I could have done much better. If it was not for the fear of being taken granted again, I would not mind doing more stuffs.

Alas, I can concentrate on the final two examination papers and FYP.

Sick and the SIM Babes

My health had been depleting for the past few days ever since Sunday morning. The bloated stomach invited flu along on Tuesday night and I almost could not make it for work the next morning.

Taking panadol caused me bad cough and I could not doze off with the irritant on my throat. I was not sure if I was allergy to panadol because it was not the first time it happened. The giddiness in the morning almost tripped me over on the way to Bukit Batok.

I was surprised that I could still conduct the workshop in my condition. It was a terrible morning to struggle on for my weak body wanted to collapse so many times while I put on a strong front.

Lunch was at Clementi’s coffee near the NTUC. The chicken cutlet was a letdown. I was not sure if I was too giddy or Weitat heard wrongly, otherwise, I would have enjoyed the chicken chop instead. A gay bee ruined my entire cup of lime juice by kissing the tip of the cup and also sucking off the juice.

I was always sleepy but the flu worsened my condition that my eyes could hardly stay open in the afternoon.

Magdalene gave me a lift to school and thus I reached SIM very early. I took a seat at one of the study tables and two quite good looking girls shared the table with me, and even sitting on the same side, right besides me. There were many babes passing by as well.

Met Firman at SIM

The second day suffering alone was more withstandable than the previous day. I loved students who were appreciative. I had my lunch with Daniel and his students followed us. The fish and chips at Clementi’s Botak Jones was filling but the frozen fish did not taste very good.

Weitat gave me a ride to SIM again. While I was going up the escalator, I saw a familiar figure, and he banged the folder on his hands on the wall. It had been ages since I last saw my army buddy, Firman. I accompanied him for his dinner instead of setting up my laptop at one of the study tables. I was quite envious of him, being able to purchase a HDB flat together with his mum.

After meeting up with Yuanle and Soon Siong for dinner, we tried to finish the tutorial fast. Soon Siong and I left the lab quite early again, while others stayed behind to do their project discussion.

Satisfactory Lesson

Monday began a tiring day. Mei Hoe accompanied me to stroll over to Clementi MRT where I boarded the bus to SIM. I did not bring my laptop along and I had to spend the time on my little notebook while waiting for Soon Siong to arrive.

It was an interesting evening for we tried our best to finish the tutorial question fast. In order not to waste time, we even volunteered to present. I felt good because I was able to do the work.

However, the night killed my health when a couple of classmates came back from their smoking break, introducing third hand smoking. After inhaling those tiny particles left over by the burnt cigarettes, I started having breathing difficulties.

Early Home from Tutorial

Yesterday, Weitat offered to send me to school again. Just as we were about to leave, Chi Chiang volunteered to give me a ride as well and I had to reject him. I felt so blessed with good friends who were willing to spend extra time just to make my life more comfortable.

I was more than an hour earlier for the lesson. The usual study tables at both sides of the lifts were filled and I moved to the opposite where I discovered the area where not as many people were desired. There was however, a group of students at the second table, making noises to distract me.

I was fed up with the Microsoft Word that hung on me and it was probably due to the windows updates I did before leaving the office. I had to switch to the 2003 version to get things working. It was a pleasant evening eventually with the passers-by, drawing more of my attentions. SIM was definitely crowded with cute babes.

I made my attempt to create documents for the FYP as the leader. Since I had wasted quite a lot of time with the MS Word bugs, Soon Siong caught up with me soon.

After dinner, we reached the lab right on time. Dr Loo surprised me by saying we could submit the assignments on the spot instead of following the paper’s instruction of emailing him before 7pm.

I began digging into the tutorial two all by myself and finished it right after Dr Loo announced that we had to submit it to him. We left the lab at 8pm, breaking the record. I was quite glad with myself for being able to finish the work for the entire group to prove my worth.

I missed a bus 75 right in front of me and thus, I followed Soon Siong in his bus 74 to transit to MRT.

I closed my lids a few times and lost track of the actual time that I dozed off.

Two Weeks of Intensive Lectures were over

The last two weeks of intensive lectures finally ended yesterday. Every weekday’s night and even Saturday were locked up by the torment.

Of the fourteen sessions, forty-two hours, I spent almost half of them sleeping inside the theatre. I was of course lack of sleep, but the prime reason was obvious since the dozing hours almost coincided with the second module’s lectures.

It was ridiculous to pay nearly two thousand bucks to listen to a lecturer who could not pronounce English better than a lousy speaker like me, trying to dupe everyone to sleep.

However, I did manage to utilise the time during the last few lectures by working on the laptop.

Last two Assignments Submission

Last Friday was the final two assignment submission of the Database module. The struggle inside the office to accomplish the task 4 and assignment 2 caused mild headaches.

I refused lunch out but luckily, my buddies changed their minds and decided to stay in school that I did not need to packet my rice from the canteen.

I failed to progress much in my work. However, it was a good learning process to piece my UML diagram from papers into MS Word. It was never my fore.

Just after I was joking with Hasnah to get her down to SIM to have her dinner, I met Josephine Ong who offered to give me a ride. I was quite embarrassed for I managed to find out she was actually not on her way. We did not have much time to chat because her Masda2 picked up too fast at the traffic lights.

I grabbed a burger and finished it before going into the lab, which was supposed to be empty after 5.30pm, burying my head into the computer screen again. It was a torture to eyes and mental.

I was quite ashamed of myself for not able to recall everything Mr Japit taught, but, a small clarification managed to resolve most of the doubts.

Yuanle’s little pointer solved a big problem of mine for the database. I struggled through the remaining work with me after ten PM. I felt quite embarrassed for making Mr Japit stay back - it reminded me of what I had done for others previously.

Consultation with Mr Japit

Last Thursday, there was a big delay in work. Bernard told me the event would probably end at around four PM and thus I arranged a meeting with my teacher, Mr Japit, for consultation.

I loved so much to be involved in my job’s events or activities to gain more exposure and experience, however, I was brooded down by my studies.

Anyway, the event ended at five PM and luckily, Jingkun was around to send me to SIM. Mr Japit impressed me a lot with the different examples he illustrated to open up my eyes at the tough questions.

A pity for the little was insufficient enough that Jingkun could not enquire much about his work. The tiredness ate up some of my memory after the consultation.

It was not a school day and yet I was travelling home late from SIM, but everything was worthwhile.

Third Implementation Task

Two Fridays ago, I was stuck with my assignment as usual. It was the third implementation task and I did not seem to be ready for the entire module yet.

The sudden change of the poster design was a surprise to me for I thought everything was almost completed. Luckily, I was quick enough to amend it to sum up the more than twenty emails exchanged.

I stayed inside the office until after five and went to school directly to continue with my work but to realise there was nothing much I could do. I submitted only one mark out of the two and half marks question. The frustration could never be described.

Later, I realised the last question required installation of a sample database in order to do. Even though it was already copied into a CD given by the lecturer long time ago, it was not mentioned in the task’s instructions, which was ridiculous.

It was not the end of the terror.

Reasons to Skip Night Class

One of the irritating incidents I had ever encountered on the train was when I was trying to read up on my lecture notes by the side of the “inner” doors, two bangalas came in, one standing right in front of the door and the other one hanging on to the ring support at my left. It was not that bad if they did not start talking and sandwiched me with the noise. The latter even walked towards the doors to see the scenery and then walked back to his original position.

I spent my free time in office to study and do my assignment. Wee Lian’s kindness to get us involved in the afternoon’s workshop caused hesitation. I was more than happy to join in the creativity game with my colleagues but I had to prioritise my night class top after having a session the night before and also, waking up early in the morning for work.

Lunch was too sudden for me. It was quite a big group outing this time with Dorothy, Mei Hoe, Nicholas, Daniel, Mrs Wo, Vivian, Mrs Lam, Mrs Seetoh and my two usual buddies. We went to West Coast to have sliced fish soup with noodles. The person who attended to us was very impatient and rude and we were surprised that Dorothy could take it without asking us to leave together. Anyway, it was costly at the price of $5 and XO soup would be $7. Practically, I was not a lover of the item and thus, could not tell the quality.

Jingkun and I sent Weitat home before going back to the office. I was right that I could not stand sleeping for less than four hours the night before, however, I waited for Jingkun to finish off his stuffs and we left around forty-five minutes later than projected time. We even had some food outside the theatre, which cost us time.

By the time I reached home, it was almost five PM and I dozed off soon. I woke up in shock at around six-thirty PM, knowing that I would definitely be late for my night class. I hurried down to the bus-stop and it took around twenty minutes for bus 75 to arrive but it did not stop since it was too packed. Seeing that the bus-stop was half full with people who were all waiting for the same bus and not wanting to waste another twenty minutes or longer time to wait for another packed bus, I quickly paced off towards Tanjong Pagar MRT station, leaving a babe behind.

I was very quick on my feet like usual all the way to the station, however, inconsiderate people were blocking the way. Perhaps, I was very proud of myself for the consideration I gave to others whenever I was strolling slowly on the way, which in turn, increased the demands for others.

I was good in calming myself down, in order not to blame SMRT for not sending more bus 75 down at the busy hour. I was reminded of government’s campaign to advise Singaporeans to use public transport and yet the public transport system was never good enough. The train was very packed as well but somehow I managed to squeeze in.

Bad things did come with good returns for I was blessed to get to see a very stylish looking girl. She was slim in her office wear and at almost the same height of mine, holding a Mac book. I was more tempted when I saw her hold a shoes bag, which probably described her sportiness. However, she alighted at around Commonwealth.

I took bus 154 at Clementi to SIM and was late for more than forty-five minutes. I could have arrived half an hour earlier if I did not walk to the bus-stop, wait for the crowded bus and walk to the MRT station.

I was totally lost at the lab since I was very late. During the break, I sat with Yuanle and his colleague. Japit started revising the lecture and I was so impressed that he managed to enlighten me unlike the main lecturer who totally failed despite having more time with us.

I was almost killed under the torment for Yuanle’s friend went out to smoke during the break and thus when he returned, his entire body was smelt of smoke and together with his opened Redbull, the smell was horrible and poisonous and I knew the effect of taking third-hand smoke was far worse than anything.

At the end of the lecture, I called Irwin a few times before he picked up to tell me to meet up in another day.

Smoke Slayer Version 1.2

I started mugging on the way to work. I spent my morning more useful than ever.

Alex caught me at my seat to ask me to go touring with him after he had helped NEA to make $800. There was no luck inside his car and we had a little suntan after that before he advised me to take my lunch half an hour before lesson began.

It was crowded in the canteen. Jingkun and Weitat were already there with Mrs Wo, Dorothy, Elvin and Afni. Kevin joined us afterwards.

I was distracted from editing the Flash game. Flash animation was tedious work and it was difficult to demonstrate, otherwise, I would have to do thirty over projects and I would be awarded the points in the end.

I was very stressed up in the afternoon. After around four years, it was difficult to understand even my own coding. However, it seemed that hard work did pay off and I managed to debug it at around five PM, and finally feeling relaxed.

I went up to find my gang but they were all gone and probably did not want to disturb me since I looked stressed. I had a little chat with Meihoe for she was trying to show me the video taken during the cohesive event – Food Rally. Grace Cheong joined in to explain more details of her video editing story while I held my bladder.

I went to school earlier than usual and met Haiyati at the bus-stop and we took the same bus but she alighted at Clementi MRT. Traffic was much smoother at that hour. I went to the fourth storey to get a teriyaki chicken burger but took a beef one instead and I was more alert than usual to go back to the auntie. She made an exchange with me but I was rather disappointed with the taste of the chicken burger this time.

I went into the lecture theatre early but it was difficult to doze off. I concluded defeat. Yuanle arrived a few minutes before seven and finally I realised I did not check the school email for instructions and was totally unprepared for the tutorial.

Mr Loo started off broadcasting the presentation groups and helping us to find our team members. I was quite happy to get to know new people. Mr Loo sounded very soft and I was very glad when he mentioned that he would be taking another two of my modules in the next two semesters.

The tutorial was basically all about the presentation and we were dismissed as early as nine PM, however, bus 75 kept me waiting for long that I could only reach home at ten PM. I was so frustrated at the fact that even “bus 61” had arrived twice. Music kept my temper down.

Thrown $20 Ez-link Card to Sleep in Lecture

For the second consecutive Saturday, I went down to SIM for lecture. Although it was the last day of the intensive lecture for this semester, things did not spell good.

The lecturer executed his power to make everyone feel sleepy again and I was so wasted throughout. During lunchtime, Yuanle and I dined at the canteen together with his colleague. Both of us had fish and chips. I saw Lynn and Zijian who were nearby. Since I was very tired, I did not go over to address them but it turned out to be a wrong decision since Lynn told me her hottest classmate was actually presented.

I was expecting the lecture to end very early but somehow it was dragged until the very last half an hour. I overheard from some others that they were clueless as well. Yuanle did doze off many times as well but he was flooding the lecturer with questions after the lecture, which scared me off.

I was very frustrated to wait for around twenty minutes for bus 75 to arrive. The bus-stop began empty to crowded and soon, quiet down again. The worst thing happened when I realise my EZ-link card was not in my wallet. I dropped a two-dollar note instead and it began my depressive day. It was the first time I made such mistake of losing important card.

I was sitting at the farthest back of the bus and a young sweet girl boarded the bus with her mum. The back number sign of the bus was lying on the seat and the girl put it at the back. As the bus moved, the sign fell and hit her head. I took the board from her and put it besides me.

Since I got home late, my plan to take a quick nap failed. After clearing emails, I went off to Vivocity to meet up with Irwin. I was right on time but Tingfeng and him were earlier, queuing at Sushi Teh. It was the first time I went inside and it was quite nicely decorated. Irwin’s friend, Eugene, came and joined us, and we shared some dishes together. Irwin footed the bill of around $95.

After Tingfeng left, we went to collect the online booking tickets and it was billed under Irwin’s credit card. I met Albert who was camping there with his friends probably after their beach volleyball game.

The long awaited movie, Chi Bi 2, was quite impressively filmed but the fake storyline turned Irwin off. At least, I was able to concentrate fully. After the movie, three of us went off in different directions. We were supposed to go to Dragonfly with Kaiye who flew us aeroplane. Anyway, I did not have the chance to hear from Irwin about his recent story.

After reaching home, I was busy with filing of police report online, and spending large amount of time at the SAF, Ez-link and SIM websites.

Some Good Naps

As of always, Friday started early. It stretched until afternoon and I could finally rest myself with my gang at the canteen to enjoy a meal.

I was busy with my Flash game later before Daniel invited me to leave with him. After reaching home, I took a good nap for nearly two hours before going to school without having dinner. I dreamed of my colleagues and my boss quitted the job unexpectedly somehow after some disagreements with the management as he was siding with my gang.

I was sitting beside a lady who was more than average looking but I was quite turned off when she talked over the phone to describe how slow the bus was; I was expecting her to be more calm and classy.

The bus indeed provided us with air-conditioner for very long and it took nearly an hour to reach school, which was almost twice the time for night trip.

I grabbed a chicken teriyaki burger at level four and the bite delighted me; it tasted good like what Jingkun had recommended to me at the price of $1.50. However, since I thought it was not nice to chew inside the lecture theatre, I kept the burger for the break.

Since I could not see Yuanle at first and that I did not want to catch too much attention, I took the fourth row seat, whereby the front seats were all empty. Later on, I joined him during the break.

The lecture was as boring as before but since I had some sleep before that, even though the total hours of sleep did not even exceed six hours for the day, I managed to focus more. With the self-reading of a few chapters in front during the journey, I gained more confidence.

I acknowledged that the lecturer was of certain qualities, such that he could be standing in front, but however, he had the very bad habit of repeating his words continuously and also softening his voice before the end of his sentences, seemed like mumbling to himself that it definitely made sleepy heads more drowsy. I recognised that the module was “drier” than the earlier Internet Security one, but he did not have many entertaining jokes like Professor Willy. I got tired at the end of the lesson and I concluded that I needed more recharging like old rechargeable batteries.

One ridiculous thing was that the lecturer did not get back the attendance file a day before and thus he declared that everyone was present; on this day, he came back with a complete new list and thus everyone who was present for this lecture would be considered present for all the previous four lectures as well. What was the point of passing us the attendance file to sign at only the third hour to cause some of us to leave the theatre late since some people were taking their own sweet time to sign before passing around the theatre?

Bus 75 took “forever” to come again. I watched other buses arriving as the bus-stop’s crowd dispersed, I got very irritated. I guessed some of the regular customers of bus 75 had taken other buses instead. In my bad mood, I started listening to MP3s and somehow it helped to relieve the stress.

I got home to catch only the last few episodes of the Yi Zhi Mei and when I tried to watch it online, the You Ku website took forever to load, and it was really forever.

Meihoe’s Birthday Treat

Relieving duties were waste of time somehow when the subject was not my forte, or rather, totally stranger to me.

I managed to draft out something for the following week’s torment at Bukit Batok but the morning spelt anxiety for me.

Weitat went to meet up with his students. Alex and Mdm Seet were asking me out for lunch and I insisted to wait for Jingkun inside the staff room. I did not dare to disturb him during his lesson and thus only ten minutes later, I called him. When he told me he was going out, I was stunned and felt stupid and embarrassed for rejecting my two colleagues earlier on. I went to the canteen to buy the usual mixed vegetable rice back to office but I stopped by to chat with many people along the way. My colleagues returned when I just finished eating and I was very lost to explain what had happened.

I managed to spend some time editing my “Smoke Slayer” game in order to “revise” on my Flash and Action script skill. Every day was learning day. Just when I was so engrossed in the editing, Weitat, Daniel and Meihoe called for me and we proceeded to Avenue 2 for dinner. Mingfa and Mingli joined in the claypot rice feast and the dinner was on Meihoe because it was her birthday. I was quite embarrassed once again since she had told me before her birthday was on January and that I had almost totally forgotten about it even though she did not tell me the date.

Anyway, I was not a claypot rice lover and that my entire body was stunk after the meal and felt so irritated throughout the night. All of them claimed that that stall was not very fantastic.

I made my way down to the bus-stop at around 6.30 PM. Bus 154 came to welcome me and I was glad that it was not as crowded as what I had anticipated. I was early for lesson! However, the lack of sleep acted like drought and almost killed me completely. I was not sure if the module was too boring or the lecturer was just too weird. I was very stressed because Yuanle was far too smart and I was wondering if I was the lousiest in the entire lecture group.

The journey home was unusual for I was busy trying to SMS my contacts about my change of number. Like the previous times, which I had tried, after typing the message and then selecting multiple recipients before sending, the “internet” icon appeared and then failure message appeared. I went to the sent message to try to resend and the message was converted to MMS, which was so dumb for I did not add any video or image at all. My younger brother guessed it was because I had not activated the MMS service on my phone. Everything was so stupid and that I probably would wait until Sunday to start SMSing my contacts on the phone who I did not have their email address.

Anyway, a stylish girl boarded the same bus as me and sat two seats in front. The journey could be much more entertaining if I could get to see her more before she alighted before the big turn towards Great World City.
