A visit to Chinatown last evening killed my huge appetite. My family and I went to People’s Park Complex Food Centre for our dinner and my younger brother happened to have a craving for herbal soup. Since I was exhausted from the night cycling half a day ago, I wanted to take some meat. We ordered a bowl of soup and sweet and sour pork rice from the stall “Nanyang Kitchen”.
It was run by China people. The lady was very rude. She forgot about my order after collecting money and made me stand there for very long. My brother had taken our herbal soup away earlier on and left me waiting there alone. Many people who had ordered other food (meat and fish) were served before me.
She thought I was a new customer and tried to take my order again. I told her I was waiting for my sweet and sour pork rice and she started asking her chef to include my dish. Next she told me, "Young man, there are many people waiting for their food, be patient okay? The meat requires a long time to cook."
Obviously she was in the wrong and I was in fact very polite to her all along. I was very turned off that she tried to hide the fact. Can't this China lady admit her mistake? I'm a Chinese born in Singapore and it's obvious I could hear her late instruction for her chef.
I don't think she's running an honest business. She overcharged a customer who was sharp enough to expose her. The food tasted quite bad seriously. She was a great foreign talent who was actually quite bad in her mathematics who also reminded me good customer service.
I was busy typing emails and later on, I tried to finish the article Home Tuition in Singapore before going to bed at 5am. Lucky woke me up near 11am as he sniffed my ear to cause irritation with the loud and air pressure.
I took MRT with my elder brother and mum and met up my elder brother’s girlfriend at Kranji station. Then, we took bus 170 over to Woodlands Checkpoint and then to Johor Bahru. The queue at Woodlands CheckPoint’s bus interchange was totally screwed up. Bastards had started cutting queue and forming a third queue in between the actual two ones. It was beyond control and none of the officials had attempted to clear the mess.
My mum went for haircut, treatment and dyeing of hair at the old shopping centre next to City Square. I had chicken rice with the couple while waiting. We went back to check on my mum and realised the salon allowed smoking inside and I was angered by such illegal act. We went shopping for a while before going back to find my mum again. The couple left to meet up with my younger brother and his gangs at the MacDonald’s while I stayed behind to wait. After my mum was done with her hair, she told me us she had purchased a bottle of lotion from the hairdresser. I was disgusted that she was cheated again as my elder brother told us that the hairdresser earned very high commission for such sales, which meant that we could get the lotion at much cheaper price elsewhere.
We went for lunch at the Hong Kong café because it was my younger brother’s birthday and we could get a big container of tea for free. We did not order a lot of food. After lunch, we separated into two groups. My younger brother stayed with his friends. It was a very boring afternoon for me. Sometimes I had to wait outside the crowded shops that my mum shopped in. I was sleepy and had many better things to do and it was a really big torment for me.
The two groups of us met up at 6pm and hopped on to the cabs that we had booked before we proceeded to a faraway seafood restaurant called “TKK” or “Ti Kong Kia” or “Son of Heaven”. It was by the side of the sea, facing Sembawang. Other than the good scenery, the service was excellence. It was too bad that I was not a seafood fanatic.
We went back to City Square after that and did a little shopping. Luckily, this time round, my mum was quick and we joined up with the rest soon. When we were crossing over the custom, we realised the design for arrival and departure were symmetrical after some confusion. We were waiting for CW2 bus to go straight to Bugis and my younger brother saw the Resort World bus. We left the queue and boarded our new discovery at the price of ringgit five bucks each. The bus left us at Keppel Road before it went towards Sentosa.
After reaching home, we saw that Lucky had messed up the entire place. My elder brother arrived almost at the same time and he was stunned to see that Lucky had destroyed his girlfriend’s new slippers.
I spent some time replying Wanling and Gilbert through Facebook about the upcoming outing.
I woke up before 6am because of Lucky moving around. I was very scared that he wanted to pee or even do his big business that I opened the door a few times for him. In the end, I switched off the air-conditioner and went back to sleep with the door opened so that he could go outside any time.
I woke up after 9am eventually caused by the renovation noise of the unit above. The disgusting bitch decided to join in the fun of the HDB home improvement after all my surrounding units had completed ours.
The renovation was actually planned well enough that the work would start for one unit on three storeys (vertical) each time for two weeks. In the mid of the two weeks, the next three units (horizontal) beside them would proceed. Upon completion of the first three units, the next three units below would have their turns.
I did not expect the terrible noise and air pollution would come back a month after everything was cleared up. I started cursing her when I recalled how much time I had spent cleaning the kitchen’s windows and frames right after our renovation, because the dust and dirt had their best hideout in between the windows and frames; unless I could remove the entire windows from the frame to clean them, nothing much could be done to clean them.
I was extremely disgusted and disappointed at the management of the project for allowing such incident to happen. The noise and dust had badly affected my family and I. I had to change my plan to go to the gym earlier to do work and train up before the meeting in the late evening. I had to stay at home to bear with the noise with all the windows closed, because I could not leave Lucky inside the kitchen anymore like usual when everyone was out. My younger brother went down to the third storey to escape from the shit soon since he had to study for his exams.
I was very fed up and the nasty network connection worsened my mood. I replaced the old router my elder brother took from his girlfriend with our original tiny one, and the connection was much faster and I needed not refresh the pages multiple times in order to get some images loaded.
In the early afternoon, nobody was at home except me. Lucky surprised me by going into the bedroom alone and slept on my bed. I went in a few times to check on him and he followed me out like normal but he went in again. I was not sure why he was so “emo”. He was never like this even if my elder brother was not home and I suspected it was due to the drilling noises caused by the bitch. Anyway, during my house’s renovation, I stayed inside the bedroom almost the entire day with Lucky, and I suspected it was partly due to this experience that he thought he should stay inside.
In the mid afternoon, my mum returned home with a neighbour who stayed next block. My house was the “show flat” again and I was quite sick of it. Moreover, this auntie asked me to carry Lucky when I was trying hard to rush my work. I got so disgusted for I could not do my work anymore.
In the evening, I tried my luck in Facebook to look for people to go to the movie with me for the next day. Luck was not with me but it was a really good try for I did not expect to get a response that I did not have for many years. Eventually I had to leave my house for the meeting at the gym. I tried to do my work-out but I only got to complete one station before the meeting started.
We were stuck at the same issue until Andrew thought of an alternative. Since it was not foolproof, I still could not see a confirmed success.
I was working on the Smart Tuition website and fell asleep for a while. I spent some time blogging and slept after 5am.
I woke up at around noon and started off my day toying around with the FIFA Superstars game on Facebook. Then, I started Facebook marketing for the tuition agency website. However, halfway through, my mum and elder brother wanted to go down for dinner and we brought Lucky along. At the carpark, a neighbour started questioning my mum about her giving wrong direction to the workers to tear down our next-door neighbour’s built-in cupboard in the kitchen.
My mum had told us earlier about it and we knew that it was because this neighbour went to another neighbour’s house to use the toilet and made my mum look after the house for her during the renovation. She took as long as half an hour to return since she was happily chatting after the use of toilet and when the workers asked my mum who had no idea about it, they removed the cupboards.
I was very frustrated by this neighbour, the “victim”, as I found it really stupid for her to push all the blames to my mum after my mum did her the favour of monitoring the workers. She was at fault for leaving the house so long as the problem would not have happened if she were to return earlier. Anyway, anyone in her shoes would have returned home right after using the toilet and not make the kind helper rot over there. Lastly, it was very irritating and ungrateful for her to spread the story around the neighbourhood to badmouth my mum.
I was not very supportive of dining downstairs with Lucky because most restaurants and coffee shops would not have allowed pets along. It would be a different case if we were living in Europe where pets were much appreciated and could even go on public transport. We waited quite a while for tables outside the small shop near the 7-11.
After having dinner, my elder brother and I walked the dog for a while before going home. Upon reaching home, I suggested my brother to go visit the mock-up room for the HDB upgrade so that he could roughly see how we could purchase items for the bathroom and toilet. However, the man inside the temporary office turned us down, saying we should have visited it before 6pm.
After going home, I continued with the Facebook marketing. I had received responses for the Smart Tuition website. I spent some time replying emails.
I spent the morning blogging on other blogs even though I knew I was lagging behind on my personal blog. I had a chat with Yaozhong before sunrise. I took some cereal and slept after 6am.
I was pissed off with the neighbour staying right above my flat for I had observed slamming of the bedroom door daily as early as 6am since long ago and finally confirmed it. It was definitely done deliberately for the banging noise was very loud. It happened almost every time when I stayed up till after 6am. When Lucky first came, the sudden sharp and loud noise would wake him up to start barking. I was not sure if the lonely bitch was the culprit or she could have rented a room, but there was a high chance that she was the sick fellow.
I woke up before noon and was pissed off with Lucky for chewing on my spectacle. One of the ends was torn and only the sharp metal was left. I threw him out of my bedroom and ignored him when he was crying in the living room alone.
I woke up again at 3pm and went to the gym after having my lunch. The main purpose of the early trip was to help Tze Khit with his website again. Bobby bought chay kuay teow for me in the evening. I did my workout after that and Letian came over to discuss with me over the business plan suggested by Andrew. Bobby was sharp and realistic and warned us about the little benefit we could get. I had my own doubts too because Letian was simply too similar to me and we were too soft to be good sales-persons.
I tried to show my brothers my spectacle at the house’s door and it broke immediately when I tried to remove it from my ears.
I rested for a while before going down to walk Lucky with my elder brother.
I slept at 4am and woke up at around noon. The wall’s clock inside the room was lagging by an hour and I thought I had made an achievement of waking up before noon.
I took the afternoon to blog and work on the website. I was too engrossed that I missed my favourite show “Liu Bo Wen” and thus I started searching for it online. The story was based on China’s Ming dynasty when the descendants of the Yuan Empire wanted to overturn the new kingdom to revive their Mongolians’ pride and glory. It was more interesting than the modern days’ detective stories.
At night, my brothers and I went down to walk the dog. My younger brother brought his new Waveboard along. Unfortunately, we met Lulu at the third storey and she talked to my brothers, and asked them to view her two Jack Russell. My younger brother had long forgotten how cunning this lady was as it was some time ago when I told him about how money-minded she could get. They followed her to see the dogs and I went home soon since I did not want to waste my time waiting alone.
It was a weird world where some people could be two-hearted – kind to animals and yet scheming against innocent parties for money.
My brother invited me to a game of Command and Conquer Generals. It was the second time I moved my laptop to sit beside him to battle against the computers in the three-against-five war. I started blogging and knocked off at 5am.
In the morning, I went to meet Gilbert to borrow his camera just below his office. He took some time to explain to me regarding the functions. I felt quite bad for he had an outing on Saturday morning and he would not be able to use his camera then. Next, I went to Potong Pasir to return my graduation gown to the Serangoon Broadway photo studio. I could not recognise myself in the photo which I was having a handshake with the presiding officer, Professor Joe Chicharo, taken by them. They were good in selling products for they wanted me to get a larger version of the photo with frame at the price of $45, which I immediately rejected them.
I went to Vivocity to meet up with Irwin. I only got to see a quite pretty girl while waiting for him at the seat at level one. We proceeded to Starbucks and the golden area I sat when meeting Hoay Min previously was available and we started camping there for the entire afternoon. There were some distractions, especially from a couple. The girl sounded like a slut, raising her voice while flirting with the guy. Then, she repeatedly called “bitch” for very long that both Irwin and I felt like going over to give her a slap. An ang moh sitting behind the guy and besides our table seemed to be irritated by them and left.
It was not a very good afternoon for me for I had designer’s block. At least, I got to read through one edition of the Home Décor magazine, and some of the designs impressed me a lot.
We left in the early evening and had ultra late lunch at Long John’s Silver. We went to Daiso where I got myself another belt to replace the current one. After that, we played a round of basketball at the arcade. I tested Gilbert’s camera and the battery bar dropped very soon.
I had lunch with Dorothy and Mei Hoe at “Bao Gong” at West Coast. I spoke less than ten lines in total during their non-stop conversation.
Into the late afternoon, I went down to the MPH with Mei Hoe. I set up the court and we started playing together with Pierre and Paul. Daniel joined us later to kick off more fun. I left earlier since I had promised Jasmine to meet up for dinner.
The rush home to shower exhausted me more than the earlier game. Nevertheless, it was a wrong decision yet again. I clearly understood “you treat someone with respect doesn’t mean that person would do the same to you”.
I was being betrayed and setup to bang into a shameless ghost, or rather, someone scarier than a ghost.
She mixes around with bitches often out of own will even though she hates them.
This is through experience.
To prove this true, simply apply the logic that out of ten close friends you have, if eight of them have a common characteristic, you will be influenced.
I have been so busy nowadays that I cannot even add in new contents to my personal website, except that I still continue to update my blog regularly. Many entries are outdated still.
My mailbox is storing many interesting forwarded emails, which I do not have time to forward to other friends even after filtering. Since some friends are urging me to send them more emails, but I do take some time to do it.
I did mention before that it always take a lot of time to do it for I have to exclude the originators and our common friends, and also other chores such as to filter Chinese contents from non Chinese readers.
Since very long time ago I had emailed everyone in my list to ask if anyone wanted me to exclude him or her from the list. I do not understand why this sluggish foreign girl whom I had not chatted with for years messaged me to ask me to exclude her in the list only this day. The weird thing is she does read the emails.
Is she retarded?
A normal person will simply reply since years ago if she does not want to receive any email. At least, a sane person will not read through the forwarded emails if she does not like them.
We shall not focus on her brain problem, however, on her rudeness and arrogance. A bimbo who behaves like a hot babe is disgusting. If you do not have the looks, nobody will pick on you; but if you do not have the looks yet behaves like you are a babe, it will only give gooseberry to everyone. For example, I think I’m not handsome and thus I do not carry myself high up in the air in front of others.
It is really a serious problem with family upbringing for people who bark like a female dog. The way you talk to people who treat you with respect resembles how refine you are. Same goes to how you react to displease or disagreement; do not start insulting the other party.
It shows too deep what kind of person you are.
By the way, I have almost forgotten that in every five or more out of twenty-eight days of girls’ lives, they are less temperate.
